Garage Sale

Well, our garage sale was a success, at least to us! We worked hard all week to pull stuff out of the attic, closets, cabinets, and get it all ready to go for this morning. Click on the extended entry to see a couple of pictures I snapped last night, inside the garage, of the stuff all laid out. It was dark, so they are not the greatest of pictures! And there was more, off to the sides…

We got up at 5:45 and had people here by 6 AM. We sold a lot of it, I’d say probably 80%, and what was left, we took to the local Goodwill after it was all over. The only thing we didn’t sell was our old entertainment center, so we’ll run an ad in the paper soon or try Craigslist.com and see if we can find it a nice home. We made more money than I had anticipated, which is always really nice!!! I guess that old adage is true … “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” 🙂

We’re both fairly tired now, so I don’t expect to do more than some housework and vegging for the rest of the day. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

  1. Claire Said,

Busy day but a success…congrats! I’ve been studying all day, not fun but my job! At least I didn’t have to get up at 5:45

  2. Susie Said,

Congrats on the successful sale. I admire anyone who can put together a garage sale. The whole inevitable mess just scares me so much that I’d rather keep my junk shoved into closets and under beds. 😉

  3. Gail Said,

Now Tim has him some golf money!

  4. Kailani Said,

Isn’t it amazing what people buy? Congrats on a successful garage sale! Now you can go out and buy more things to replace the things you sold! LOL!

  5. Cam Said,

Congrats on the successful sale! 80% is really good! That trash/treasure saying is so true. I’m always amazed that the things I think won’t sell are usually the first things to go! And vice versa.

  6. Suzanne Said,

you ARE your mothers daughter !!
