Library Books

I went to the library this afternoon and got 3 books that I had seen mentioned on other people’s blogs, either in a book review, something they are currently reading, or a meme. I’ve just added them to my sidebar, under the “up next to read” section.

I wanted to give a shout-out to these nice ladies for mentioning them on their blog in the first place 🙂

1. The Falls by Joyce Carol Oates mentioned at Southern Fried Girl’s blog… hopefully, here (blogger doesn’t always like me!)

2. I Do (But I Don’t) by Cara Lockwood, mentioned by Debi at her blog, Caught Between Worlds… hopefully, here

3. Jewels of the Sun by Nora Roberts (first of a trilogy), mentioned at Yellow Roses Garden’s blog… hopefully, here.

Thanks ladies, for the book reviews and tips!

  1. Beckie Said,

I will check out these book selctions — thanks!

I was “touring homes” and saw that you had wanted to participate. You can still join us — just take your pictures and post them!! There is plenty of time, I am sure… I am only on home #61, so it’ll be a few days before I have seen ALL the homes. So… Get out your camera and start taking photos. I will watch for you on the list.
Blessings to you and yours! :o)

  2. Stacey Said,

I just recently read two Joyce Carol Oates books. One was Zombie and the other was The Female of the Species. Zombie was certainly weird. I would only recommend it if you like weird stuff. But The Female of the Species has some interesting short stories.

  3. Susie Said,

I think you will like “Jewels of the Sun” – it’s magical, and it made me want to go to Ireland, and pronto!

  4. Debi Said,

I Do (But I Don’t) was a cute book. Hope you enjoy! My co-worker recently loaned me a chick lit book – Summer in the City by Robyn Sisman. that was pretty good too.

  5. southernfriedgirl Said,

The Falls was definitely an acquired taste. Let me know what you think.

  6. Trista Said,

I just finished I Do (But I Don’t) by Cara Lockwood. It was a late starter for me. Once I got into the book, it was pretty good. I am currently reading I Did (But I Wouldn’t) by her as well.
