Exceedingly Mundane

Thursday turned out to be a really busy day. Originally, I was just going to get my hair cut, and do some laundry. I know, really exciting. But, plans change, and so Thursday turned out completely different than I had thought it would. The girl who does my hair has the flu and so she couldn’t do it on Thursday (although she’s going to come in some on Friday and I hope to go today). Daddy told us last minute about an appointment at the VA, so he drove up, and Gail drove down. They both came to my house, where we visited for a while, then went to Chili’s for lunch. I meant to take a picture of our food in Chili’s (now that I have my nifty new camera phone and I can take stupid, meaningless pictures of things like food), but I forgot. I was hungry and just started eating! We got….

some good stuff at Chili’s! My last trip there with Tim was disappointing, but this one made up for that last trip. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, which was very good. Gail got a fajita pita that looked good (although not for me, peppers and tomatoes, ick). And Daddy got the best looking dish of all, a steak fajita quesadilla. No tomatoes, yeah, so I might order that next trip.

After lunch, we went back to my house for a bit. I printed Daddy some Sudoku’s to play at home, and I showed them my squirrel feeder and the saga of the squirrel (see blog post here). After boring them to tears, they decided to head out. Dad left for home, and Gail headed to Goodwill to drop off some items. I decided to meet up with her after that, and us run to Target.

Once inside Target, I immediately twisted Gail’s arm and got her to try the new flavor on the board at Starbucks – a Marbled Mocha Macchiato. I meant to take a picture with the lid off (they drizzled lots of chocolate syrup on top), but didn’t, so I took a picture of our two Starbucks cups (since I forgot to take a picture in Chili’s). Gail posted about it here, including the picture I emailed from my camera. 🙂

After leaving Gail at Target, I headed to Walmart to do the weekly grocery shopping. Got a lot of stuff in there, and I was late getting home. I had talked to Tim earlier and we had decided to just pick up one of those roasted chickens in there for supper, since we had both eaten out at lunch and had a big meal. WELL. By the time I got up to the deli (saved it for last, a severe tactical error), they were out of chickens. So, I called Tim and he said he needed to get gas anyway, and would stop at Sam’s and get a chicken there. Which he did, and we both thought that was one of the biggest chickens we had ever seen!

Tim had to work late, then run by Lowe’s to get cleaner for the tile in the bathroom, and then to Sam’s to get gas and the chicken. So, he was really late getting in. But, when he came in, he came in with a big surprise. I think I’ll blog about that in a separate post. With picture.:mrgreen:
