To anyone that knows me, it comes as no surprise that I will take a picture of just about anything. That has totally been the case since I got my first digital camera. Once I realized I could take a picture of absolutely anything and not have to pay for the instant gratification of seeing it and sharing it, I went absolutely stark raving nuts. I take pictures of anything – food we eat, birds outside, bugs, flowers, the sky, the moon, old buildings, shoes, trees, anything.
Enter my new Motorola Razr. Heaven help me, now I have a slim camera with me at all times. I Love, Love, Love my new P850 Tim got me for Christmas, but the only downside is that it’s a little big to carry around everywhere (think Walmart, out to eat fast food, etc). Voila, now we have a camera phone for that. Furthering my love of taking pictures of anything and everything.
Right now, I’m emailing the pictures to myself. Very soon, I am going to order a Bluetooth adapter so I can just wirelessly transfer them from my phone to my computer’s hard drive, and not incur charges emailing them through my cell phone carrier’s pay service. Look for the onslaught then. Or then again, maybe – just maybe- the newness of it might have worn off by then, and I’ll be tired of it.
You think? 🙂
Click on the extended entry to see a couple of the pictures I’ve taken with my new cameraphone:
OK, here’s Tim shopping in the Sporting goods section in Walmart (NOTE: if you can’t tell by this picture, Tim is not too fond of me snapping pictures of him unannounced!):
And a couple of days ago, I was walking in our subdivision with my iPod and my camera phone (it’s tough being so gadget happy when you’re trying to exercise), and the sun was shining off the lake. The picture didn’t come out as well as I had hoped, but you get the general idea. The white flecks are the sun reflecting off the water lapping in the breeze:
And on my way to Kroger the other day, I stopped at the outskirts of our subdivision, where some small office buildings are. There’s this huge pile of purple verbena in full bloom, and it puts the buds in my flower bed to shame. It’s just so gorgeous, this picture doesn’t do it justice. And yes, I got a couple of looks when I pulled over to take this with my phone!
And last one for today (look for more soon) – this is what we deal with daily on Hwy 51. They started our highway widening project almost 3 years ago. Initially, it was supposed to last 2 years. Here we are, almost 3 years into the project, and they still haven’t gotten half of it done. It’s maddening and annoying as all get-out to those of us who get stuck in it every single day. During the day when I run errands (not prime time, not AM rush, lunch hour or PM rush), they often shut it down to one lane and ferry traffic from side to side. I usually get stuck in these for 10-15 minute stretches. This particular one I sat in about 9 minutes:
Great pictures! You know you can just email them from your phone straight to flickr and it will post them as a blog entry 😉
These pictures are cool! I’ve been wanting a camera phone lately. Yours looks like it takes really high-quality pics. Those purple verbena are beautiful!
I have a camera in my Palm Treo but don’t know how to get the pics to email !!
Come help me you gadget freak !!
