Exceedingly Mundane

Mine today is more a “thankful” than a happy. I’m thankful that we have the technology today to predict hurricanes and warn people in advance of what could happen where they live. I’m thankful today that we live as far north as we do! I’m thankful that we have a place to offer to family and friends to come stay, to get out of the path of a hurricane like Katrina.

My happy today was a surprise – Terry, Brittany and Zack came over, and we all went to a movie! 😀

Today, I’m happy that we aren’t under watering restrictions.

I ran the sprinklers (all 3) this morning for over 2 1/2 hours. And my grass is still brown and half dead. After all that water. (Of course, I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that I’ve been stubbornly refusing to water for over a week, since they keep predicting we will get rain, but we’ve gotten none, nada, zilch).

I’m happy because I’m getting my hair cut today! I feel like I’m about 2 weeks past schedule to get it cut, and I’m ready! 🙂

Mine is easy today – coffee.

I had a headache all day yesterday, and finally realized late in the day why I had a headache. I normally have tea or diet coke at lunch, so I get my daily shot of caffeine in. But, on Monday, I bought some new drinks to try at the store – Cherry 7Up Plus (they’re good!), but I looked on the cans and they say Caffeine-Free. So, that’s why I had a headache, no caffeine all day! So, I’m going to remedy that early today, I have the last of my Ghiradelli Chocolate Raspberry coffee brewing in my Cuisinart right now. 😀

With this burning in my bathroom, it makes it smell good (and doesn’t seem like it needs cleaning as much as I know it does!). Yankee Candles make me happy every day.

Ok, simple one today. Blogging makes me happy. I have a streak going, and I’m very proud of it (I’ve worked very very hard at keeping my streak alive!). I haven’t missed a single day blogging since we were gone over the Memorial Day weekend and I didn’t have Internet access. Love it when I meet a goal 😀

We’re getting to see all the parents today (Tim’s mom and dad, and my dad), so that makes me happy today!

Something that makes me happy (although not necessarily today, but I thought of it today, doesn’t that count? )

Tagless T-shirts

Now, who thought of this? And why didn’t I think of it and patent the idea? I could be sitting in a chateau in the Swiss Alps now if I had come up with this brilliant idea. I have a few short sleeve tshirts and shirts that are tagless, wish they all were. What made me think about it …. I was surfing earlier this morning for long sleeve t-shirts for fall and winter. Ran across some that were tagless; those appeal to me a lot more. Good selling point! 😀

So far today, at least two things have really made me happy:

1. Air Conditioning. It’s so hot here. My flowers and grass are all shriveled up. I went out this morning with the intention of watering all of them. I gave up after the flowers. Decided the grass could just wither and die and I would be ok with that. 😆

2. Those Office Max commercials – I keep seeing them every day at lunch. You know the ones, they came out last year, with the guy in the funny clothes, dancing around and helping folks with their office supply needs, all the while the old song “Rubber Band Man” is playing in the background. Love those commercials.

Something that makes me happy today – Crystal Light Peach tea. Elizabeth told me about it a few weeks ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. I have 2 glasses every day with my lunch.

I just searched and you can even buy it through Amazon! Gotta love Amazon too 😀

Well, today’s is not so much something that just makes me jump up and down for joy. More of like, I’m so happy and thankful to have this today.

Tylenol.

Today, I’m happy to have Tylenol to help with my headache. I woke up with a horrible headache and it’s tolerable if I’m taking tylenol. So, thank goodness we have a big bottle in the house 🙂

I have at least two things that I’m really happy about today:

1. I got to go get a bunch of gift cards for everyone, for participating in the Hambones one year celebrations at the main website. It was so much fun for me to do all of that, and getting other people little happies always brings a big smile to my face.

2. I went back to Hobby Lobby again today, because they were having a big scrapbook sale and many many items were 50% off. I got a bunch of paper and some stickers, so that made me really happy! Maybe later tonight or tomorrow I’ll take a picture of all my loot and post it. Something only a scrapper would understand, but it makes me really happy to have new paper and stickers and things to fondle and play with!!

Today I’m happy because it’s peaceful, quiet and we’re staying home and spending the whole day together!

I have at least two things I’m happy about today 🙂

1. Tim helped me with some stuff this morning I had been wanting to do for a while – move our heavy bedroom furniture around so I could vacuum up under and behind them, and also dust parts I can’t normally reach. We have a terrible problem with dust in this house, for whatever reason, and it stops me up and makes me have beaucoup sinus problems. So, we got that done, that makes me happy!

2. We’re going to go see a movie later this afternoon (using Tim’s free Blingo movie ticket he won), then to eat up in Madison. We’re going to go have dessert at the new Cold Stone Creamery that opened. YEAH! I’ve been wanting to go so badly all summer and they finally opened last week. I hope it’s as good as it looks!
