Lots of Memes!

I just went and looked at a couple of meme sites that I usually check during the week – and I found several that I like and want to do.

I know most of you don’t enjoy the memes (but I do like them, and it’s my blog, yada yada yada!!), so I won’t list them here. You can check the -More- link if you do, however, and you’re more than welcome to play along and put your answers in a reply. 🙂 Have fun!

Ok, here we go, I’m several days behind! Here’s a couple from Friday:

Friday Fiver Meme

The Friday Fiver, from this site:

Coming Attractions

1. What is your favorite action movie? Oh my, hard to pick. Probably the Lord of the Rings movies, or the Star Wars movies

2. What is the worst movie you’ve ever seen? From my youth, I remember walking out of the movie “Reds”. Same for “Dune”, either I left or else slept through half of it! More recently, when we were dating, we went to a late showing of “Forget Paris” and I slept through most of it! Tim and I also intensely disliked “Any Given Sunday” and “Kill Bill” – which Tim only watched a few minutes of, and I didn’t last more than 2 minutes.

3. Do you prefer comedy or drama? Both!

4. Recommend a good tear jerker: Beaches, Titanic, Steel Magnolias

5. What movie are you looking forward to seeing soon? Well, I would say Batman Begins, but we saw it yesterday! I’ve seen most of the “big ones” I had wanted to see this summer. Tim will still want to go to more though, I’m sure! We might go see War of the Worlds or Fantastic Four next.

Appetizer
What time do you usually wake up each day? If you could choose your wake-up time, when would it be?
I usually wake up around 6:45 or 7am on my own, without the alarm, unless I have stayed up too late the night before. Then, I might sleep till 8 or 9 without the alarm.

Soup
When was the last time you bought groceries? What store did you go to? Name 3 things you purchased.
I’m sure most of you who know me already know that I love to grocery shop! Last trip was last week to Super Walmart – I’m sure I bought milk, orange juice and probably fresh fruit or veggies, I get those every trip!

Salad
How many books have you read so far this year? Which was your favorite and why?
I have read 19 or 20 books since the Super Bowl in early Feb. My two favorites so far are “The Testament” by Grisham and “Three Weeks with My Brother” by Nicholas and Micah Sparks.

Main Course
What is something you consider to be very elegant? In particular, what about that item/place/person conjures up the feeling of elegance?
Hmm, I don’t “do” elegant. I feel uncomfortable in “elegant” surroundings like fine restaurants, museums, country clubs, around people who are inevitably dressed much better than me. So, I avoid places (and people) like that, like the plague!!

Dessert
Who taught you how to drive?
My dad.

Sunday Brunch meme
The Sunday Brunch meme from this site:

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

“This thing called love, I just can’t handle it-This thing called love, I must get round to it-I ain’t ready…Crazy little thing called love!” -Freddie Mercury

Let’s talk about looooove.

1) Are you currently married or involved with a significant other? Give specifics and length of time that you have been with that person. Yes, I’m married to the love of my life, Tim. We’ve been together over 10 years, married over 9. Till death do us part.

2) Where did you meet your significant other? at work!

3) What is your anniversary or special day of ANY kind and what did you do on that day with your significant other? Every day with Tim is special, and he is wonderful about making each day great. Tim is a great believer in doing things on any day, not just on a day that Hallmark or someone declares it to be a special day. He loves to celebrate life, and our blessings, and that we’re together and happy. He indulges me, and observes Valentines, our anniversary in March, my birthday in October as extra special days though, in addition to any old day of the week. 😀

4) What is the nicest thing that a person that you are or have been involved with has done for you? I can’t pick just one nice thing, Tim does so many for me, big ones and little ones, day in and day out. Friday, he bought me an iPod as a surprise!

5) Do you have a special song or movie or place with your significant other? Describe. Two songs come to mind – Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton and Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks.

What time do you usually wake up each day? If you could choose your wake-up time, when would it be?
I usually wake up by 6 or 6:15 each day, without an alarm, unless I have stayed up too late for several nights in a row! Not sure what I would pick as a wake up time, I think I like getting up fairly early now, but I used to like to sleep later.

When was the last time you bought groceries? What store did you go to? Name 3 things you purchased.
I bought groceries on Wednesday and sent someone else to get more milk on Saturday and someone else to get 2 things Sunday morning!(lots of people at my house this weekend!) 3 things: milk, cereal, grapes

How many books have you read so far this year? Which was your favorite and why?
I have forgotten to keep a count but I am at least at 12 I imagine and maybe more…..I liked The Testament as well, and The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks and have been reading quite a few Karen KIngsbury books and like all of them too.

hmmm, elegant……I think it is too late for me to be thinking straight to think of a good answer! I think one place I think of like that are theaters in New York, although we don’t always dress formal when we go, we do dress nice and the theaters have some nice elegant touches to them.
If I dress formally for some event, that feels elegant too.

  2. Dawn Said,

posted it in my blog! 😀
