In and Out

Another good day. Nothing overly eventful. Just like that ole country song goes, “just another day in paradise” 😀

David spent the night last night and we all slept in a bit since it’s a Saturday. We got up and made a big breakfast for the guys (I just ate cereal). Tim did most of the cooking, but I helped a bit. They had homemade biscuits, deer sausage, eggs and grits. David left a little while later, headed for the coast on spring break. I hope he has a safe trip! Tim worked for a while on the Hambones server, doing some partitioning work he had been wanting to do for a while. I stayed busy doing laundry, picking up, some paperwork and also doing some chores around here.

We hung the new Levolor rattan roman shade/blind in our bathroom. It looks good! I like the effect, but you can sort of see through it, so that is really weirding me out. Tim went outside and said you couldn’t see in through it, but I could see out pretty well. That is going to take some serious getting used to!

We went to the new Pizza Inn in Madison for a quick supper. Tim had been a couple of times at lunch with the guys from work, but this was my first trip. Nice place. Really sort of art deco inside, the walls are painted geometric yellow/gold and a rusty orange color. The buffet was pretty good, but Tim had much better timing than I did. He went when they were bringing out hot pizza and dessert pizza and I kept getting the last, single, solitary cold piece of pizza on the platter. 🙁 It was still good though, and I ate way more than I should have. As before, note to self – stay away from all-you-can-eat buffets 😀

We went to Home Depot and Target after that, looking for a new shower massage thing for our master shower and also a new caddy. That’s the way it goes with an aging house, everything needs replacing and updating from time to time. We’ve just been really lucky (knock on wood) that so far we haven’t had to replace anything major. My washer and dryer are going on 17 years old now and everything in this house (appliances, water heater, a/c unit) is going on 12 years old. Not to mention our aging vehicles. Oh well, that’s what the emergency fund is for.

I hope everyone traveling today had a safe trip. Jeremy was driving back to N.C. from Philadelphia, Suzanne was flying from Chicago to Dallas for business, and David drove from our house to the coast for spring break. Gail and Don got in from the ski trip with their church’s youth group early this morning. I talked to Gail today, so I know they got home safely. I hope everyone else had a safe trip! 🙂

  1. Gail Said,

Well, here is what I would do: go outside for yourself and look through the window and blind to see if you can see from the outside to inside! Don’t just take Tim’s word for it! I would have to see for myself. And make sure to do it at night also! 🙂

Almost time for a new washer and dryer: like mine!

And: ALWAYS wait for them to bring hot stuff out at Pizza Inn! Don’t get the cold piece, or else get it and then leave it on your plate when they bring hot out! 😆

David let me know, finally, that he got to the coast. And Liz got to the boat safely today in Orlando for her cruise! She texted me to let me know she was in line to get on the boat.

  2. Stacy Said,

Well, another blog post is coming soon about this blind. Although I love the way it looks, it is fairly see-through. You can easily see outside during the day (when there is more light outdoors), and to my dismay, as we discovered last night, you can see inside at night from the back yard if you are in the bathroom and the light is on. I was being paranoid about it last night and sent Tim outside to check. I was very upset, needless to say. It is a bathroom after all, where occasionally – gasp- I am not totally dressed. Even though there shouldn’t be anyone in the bathroom, it really freaks me out. We’re going to have to take it down, I think. I am going to blog about it later. It really weirds me out.

Yep, I learned the hard way to wait on the fresh, hot pizza. Won’t make that mistake again!

Glad to hear that David and Liz got there safely, hope they have a good time on break!
