Ingredients:

5 cups tart apples, sliced
1 9 inch pie shell, unbaked
½ cup sugar
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
  1. Put apples in shell. Mix sugar & cinnamon & sprinkle over apples.

  2. Topping: 1/3 c. sugar + 3/4 c. flour + 6 T. butter

  3. Cut butter into flour and sugar mixture. Put over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

  4. Stacy's Notes - Gail has made this for years, but I made it for the first time in October 2010. I used a 9" deep dish frozen pie shell and did not bake it first. I wasn't sure what kind of apple to use, so I just used what I had on hand, a mixture of Fuji and Gala apples. Used everything else the same (took a bit to cut in the butter with the flour/sugar combo). This took about 35-40 minutes in my oven, came out really good!
