A family favorite! Our niece gave me the recipe many years ago, and we love to have these!

Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter 1/2 pound
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- cinnamon to taste
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Granny Smith apples peeled, cored and cut
- 2 cans crescent roll dough
- 12 oz Mountain Dew or other soda like 7-Up or Sprite

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Melt butter over low heat, in a saucepan on the stove. Add sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, and cook until combined into a thick sauce over low-med heat.
- Peel and core the apples and cut each apple into 8 slices. Put apples and a little bit of water (about a tablespoon, not much) into a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes.
- Roll one apple slice in each of the crescent rolls.
- Place apple filled crescent rolls in a 13" by 9" pan that has been sprayed with Pam.
- Cover crescent rolls with sugar and butter mixture.
- After covering with butter mixture, cover crescent rolls with 12 oz. of Mountain Dew. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

These are so good! Serve at a brunch or party, as an appetizer or dessert, you absolutely cannot go wrong with these dumplings! I've had them done with peaches, which is good, but apple is still my favorite variety 🙂
