It was bound to happen...
Hammons Family news shammons writes "Well, it was bound to happen! It makes me sick to admit it, but for the first time ever, I have deleted some of my digital photos. :(

We went to Tim's Aunt Judy's house this past Sunday for a family get-together and I took a couple of dozen pictures of everyone there, and tried to upload them to the Hambones website. I messed up, and ended up deleting them, and now they are lost forever. I have never lost a picture before and I'm just sick that it happened now.

Thankfully, Linda had taken some pictures of everyone also, and very kindly sent me her pictures, so I have loaded them in the Photo Gallery. Thank you Linda!

Hopefully we'll have more pictures soon, of the new baby. Check back for updates in a few days or so!"

Guess the Puzzle!
Hammons Family news shammons writes "Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and will have a wonderful new year in 2005!

The Hambones have been working on some jigsaw puzzles during this holiday season. We have put together 4 so far, and are working on more over the long New Years weekend. We wanted everyone to share in our fun, so we have taken pictures of the completed puzzles, but blurred the images. If you'd like to play, you can enter a guess (as a comment) and guess to see if you can correctly identify the puzzle. The winner gets his name splashed all over the front of Hambones, or maybe more if we can come up with a better prize!

Happy Holidays, and have fun guessing!
The Hambones

Hambones Home from Vacation
Hammons Family news shammons writes "Just wanted to let everyone know that we are home from our vacation, safe and sound. We had a wonderful time and really hated to come back.

We left Friday morning (10/15) and drove to Sevierville and spent the night. We hit the outlets on Saturday and did a lot of shopping. We went to check in our cabin Saturday afternoon late and found that our cabin (which we knew was very new and hardly anyone had stayed in it) was not quite ready. The dishwasher was missing part of the panel, there were buckets of plaster, mini-blind boxes, pieces of furniture and other things laying around; there was no phone; neither TV worked (one was no where near a power source and the other had power but no channels or cable), and the gas grill wouldn't work. Our 3 criteria in getting a cabin was to get one with TV, a grill and a hot tub. This one's hot tub worked, but we struck out on the other two! After talking to the nice folks at the cabin rental place, they finally agreed to move us. Since it was the weekend and busy season, they were completely full and had no 1 or 2 bedroom cabins available. So, they kindly upgraded us to a huge 3 bedroom cabin named "Almost Heaven", where we spent our vacation. This place was bigger than our own home! It was great, and was someone's personal home, with pictures of their kids in the two living areas and bedrooms. We really enjoyed staying here!

Anyway, we grilled out all 3 nights and spent the other days in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, hiking, exploring and driving around. We had a great time, and got a few good pictures! I took TONS of pictures of foliage, leaves, trees, waterfalls and other scenic pictures, and we even got a couple of "people pics" too! Look for them to be posted in the next day or so under the Photo Gallery - on the second page under the Vacations album. :)

Update - OK, the pictures have been uploaded to the site. As usual, there are a lot of them (you know me, I love to take pictures!). If you don't want to wade through them all, here's a sort of breakdown of what's on each page. Page 1 is 2 pictures of Stacy opening a present before we left, traffic driving to Gatlinburg and Cades Cove. Page 2 is our hike to Abrams Falls (some scenic, some people pics). Page 3 is Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail and Grotto Falls, also some scenic water pictures. Page 4 is us at Clingmans Dome, then the beginning of pictures we took of our huge cabin. Page 6 is more cabin pics. Enjoy!"

The Hambones Take a Vacation
Hammons Family news shammons writes "Hey everybody! We just wanted to let everyone know that we will be taking a little vacation in mid-October. Hambones.org will hopefully run just fine without us here to "mind the store"!!

Tim is taking me to the mountains (Gatlinburg) for my birthday. We'll be gone from around the 15th to somewhere around the 20th or 21st of October. You can reach us on our cell phones if you need us for something!

Happy Fall Everyone!"
