To make the cake:
Melt Milky Way bars with 1 stick butter. Set aside. Cream 1 stick butter with sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add flour, buttermilk, soda and vanilla. Fold in Milky Way mixture and pecans. Grease and flour Bundt or tube pan (a 9x13" pan works well also, just shorten the
baking time). Bake at 325: for 1 1/2 hours.
For the topping:
Combine milk, butter, vanilla and milky way bars. Melt over low heat. Add powdered sugar, mix well. Pour over cake while still warm. Top with nuts, if you want.
