Movie - The Great Raid

We went to see this in Charlotte this weekend with Kathryn and Jeremy. I had seen it advertised and knew it was based on a true story and we wanted to see it. It had a great review written on it in World magazine. I thought it was great and I think everyone else did too. It is about a raid made to save about 500 POW'S in Batan I think during WW2. A group of Rangers, about 125, I think, one of the most successful in history. I think the Pacific theater of the war usually doesn't get as much attention as the European but still some great stories there, like the one in another movie, To End All Wars (another great movie everyone should see!) Kathryn thinks maybe that the little bit of love story part of it might have been embellished some but we do know that the characters were real people. It took a little while for them to set it all up to get to the raid itself but I really liked it. I think everyone should go see it, to know what people went through for us and did for us while fighting for our country. Be sure to stay all the way through the credits at the end to see real footage and to see tidbits of info about the real characters. Good movie!
