Book - The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown

I bought this book in paperback a few weeks ago, having seen a preview for the movie on TV or at the theater. I prefer to read books before I see the movie, as normally the books are better and more thorough than the movie.

If the book is any indication, it should be a great movie. I can see why this book has been on the bestseller list for so long. It's gripping, a real page-turner. Yes, it has controversial subject matter. Yes, I believe it's fiction and treated it as such. I don't let fiction books or movies or TV shows change what I believe as a Christian.

This book hooked me right away, which is very unusual for me and the books I have been reading the last 9-12 months. It didn't take but a few pages, and I was hooked. I stayed hooked until the end. It was a great treasure hunt, murder mystery, cat and mouse game, thriller and religious/historical backdrop all rolled into one heck of a page turner. I had a hard time putting this book down. I carried it everywhere with me, just to be able to read a few pages here and there. I finished it in record time, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing. It did have a few sections about graphic things that happened to characters or things they did to themselves, but I was able to skip over those and not be affected by them. They were not the crux of the story, but merely contributed to it, to show how extreme some people and situations can be. Overall, it was a rollercoaster of a read. :)

I give it my highest rating - 10 out of 10 stars. We own the paperback if anyone would like to borrow it. :)
