DVD - The Wedding Date
My choice, obviously, to rent... a chick flick starring Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney. I knew the premise of the movie going in - Debra Messing needs a date to her sister's wedding (since her ex-fiance is the best man), and she hires a professional escort played by Dermot Mulroney to accompany her.
I had a pretty particular idea of how this movie would play out, based on that premise of the overall plot. I thought it would be totally light, funny and pure fluff. I was wrong. It had a lot more depth and heart and plot twists to it that I didn't expect. Tim thought so too, and at one point even commented "I didn't see that coming". :)
I enjoyed this movie, but it was not what I expected. Now, of course, if you've read this, you have different preconceived notions about it, so I don't know how that would reflect other people going and renting it. Hope I didn't ruin it for anyone!
