Stacy’s Notes – I have used both old fashioned and quick cook oats and both work. I have yet to be brave enough to try steel-cut oats, LOL! I often do not have raisins so I normally just use craisins (dried cranberries). You can use whatever kind of milk you have in your fridge. When you take it out at 20 minutes, it may still look a little wiggly, but as it cools, it should set up and be firm enough to cut into squares. I make this and store in the fridge, then heat up a square (or two!) in the mornings in the microwave for my breakfast 🙂
More Notes: I doubled this to take to my ladies Bible Study. I used all old fashioined oats (I no longer use quick cook, as I prefer this with old fashioned rolled oats), and I used a mixture of Craisins (dried cranberries) and golden raisins. In a well-sprayed 9×13, the doubled amount took about 30 minutes to cook at 375. It will jiggle a little when it first comes out, but should setup well.
Enjoy!
