This week’s topic: Springing

Well, here where I live, Spring is sprung–weeks early, even. Our lilac bush looks like it will have flowers by this time next week instead of in the middle of May as usual. The dogwood trees, the magnolia trees–all the flowering trees are flowering. The daffodils and crocuses are, if anything, starting to fade. It may only be April 24th but it is very definitely Spring and, allergies notwithstanding, I’m happy to welcome the change of season. What I want to know, is:

Do your reading habits change in the Spring? Do you read gardening books? Even if you don’t have a garden? More light fiction than during the Winter? Less? Travel books? Light paperbacks you can stick in a knapsack?

Or do you pretty much read the same kinds of things in the Spring as you do the rest of the year?

Good question this week! I wish I had an interesting answer 🙂 While I do read some seasonal stuff, I don’t read gardening books, and I don’t really read travel books. I like light, fluffy books year round! I don’t really change what I read from month to month, with the exception, maybe, at Christmas. I do like reading some Christmas-themed books or short novels around the holidays. It always helps me get more into the spirit!

Happy Reading!

  1. Jaimie Said,

I like Christmas themed books too but I find myself reading them in July! Maybe it’s wishful thinking. Happy BTT!

  2. deb Said,

Stacy, I played this week for the first time. It was fun! I don’t think I’ve ever read a Christmas-themed book other than one John Grisham novel. I HAVE however read books with Spring-themed covers lol!

    Have a great day!

  3. Amy(The Sleepy Reader) Said,

I haven’t been one to read Christmas books as much but my reading does vary seasonally. I did read a couple of Christmas themed books last year though and enjoyed it so I may try again.

  4. Lauren@Baseballs&Bows Said,

I think I read mostly the same year round. Sometimes I will choose something fluffier when I am more mentally tired, but it doesn’t usually have anything to do with the season.

  5. me & my puppies Said,

I have lots of work related reading to do during the school year, so when summer comes I really enjoy reading a Nicholas Sparks book.

  6. Chris Said,

I like a spooky book or two in the fall.

  7. Stephanie Said,

I usually don’t change my reading by season. There have been a few times I’ve read a Christmas themed book during the holidays…but that’s about it!

  8. Melody Said,

Ah yes, I know what you mean about reading Christmas themed book around the holidays… Other than that, I read as usual and it’s often my mood that will decide on the books I read.

  9. mamichelle Said,

I pretty much read the same things all year through. Happy Friday!!

  10. Heidi Said,

I agree. I don’t think my reading habits change by sseaon, it might depend on my mood though.
