Project365 Complete!

Well, 2007 is over, and so is my experience with Project365. I must admit, when I started this photo project last year, I thought it was going to be easier than it was. Some days it was a no-brainer. Something was going on, I had a fun photo opportunity, etc, but some days were very hard. I spend many of my days happily at home, but that doesn’t make for interesting photographs. I took tons of photos of Beau, and posted many of them. So many of you were so nice and sweet to always say something nice about my doggie, about my photos, about my Project365. For that, I heartily thank you. I’ve thoroughly and truly enjoyed this project. But, I’ve decided to not continue into 2008. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I still take tons of photos. I will post many over at my regular blog. But I don’t like the constraints of taking and posting a photo a day. I feel like I’ve accomplished the goal I set out to achieve, and I’m happy with that.

I’ve made so many wonderful new blog friends via this blog. I still have all of you guys in my Google Reader, so I will still be stopping by. For those of you continuing on with Project365 - good luck! I hope you enjoy it and find fulfillment in the process. For those of you, like me, who are not continuing, I plan to stop by your regular blog and keep up with you. You can’t run away that easily!

Day 365

We spent New Years Eve night the way I wanted; which is staying home and working on a jigsaw puzzle. Doing a puzzle between Christmas and New Years is something I really liked as a child/pre-teen/teenager. My sister Suzanne and I used to do puzzles sometimes, and I always liked it. It’s something I always get Tim to do with me. I don’t think he really likes it all that much, but he’s really sweet to humor me and work them with me. :D Truth be told, he usually does more of the puzzle than I do!

Chris and Elizabeth came over on NY Eve to hang out and work on the puzzle. I didn’t take any people photos though, because they were both half-sick and I didn’t want to post my last photo of them when they weren’t feeling well. So… we have a photo of the puzzle. In progress - sadly it was not finished on New Years Eve so I don’t have a completed photo. Check over on my regular blog in a day or three and see the finished project :D

Day 364

Wow, the year is almost over, and so is Project365. I must admit, there were days when I wasn’t sure I was going to make it to the end of the year :) I feel like I should be posting something momentous or important or splashy or something. But, Day 364, a Sunday, was a quiet low-key day in our house. Nothing photo-worthy, which actually describes a lot of the days during the year. So, I’ll stick with my philosophy of posting something to do with our day, mundane though it might be:

Beau on the glider, at dark, wanting someone to play ball with:

Day 363

Today we had our belated Christmas celebration with Tim’s family. I wanted to post photos of our nieces and nephews. I got some posed and some spontaneous ones, and had a hard time (again) trying to decide which ones to post! It seems when I take over 100 photos, I have a hard time picking :D Anyway, I loved these because these show our nieces and nephews together, having fun. The older ones with the younger ones, and not siblings together, but cousins. We all had a great time and loved being together :)

Zack with Abby, and then Ethan and Brittany hanging out watching TV together:

Day 362

I love Christmas, love the lights, love my tree, my snowmen, my Snow Village, love all of it.

Taking it down, not so much… :)

Packing up my Snow Village, and other assorted odds and ends:

Day 361

I’ve been having a lot of fun, playing with the new telephoto lens that Tim got me for Christmas. I’m still learning, and having a bit of trouble focusing it at long lengths, but I’m having fun trying! :) I’ve been taking a bunch of photos of birds in our yard, one of my favorite things to photograph in the winter.

Here’s a cardinal hanging out in a cedar tree, way behind our fence (I know it doesn’t look like much, but this is pretty far away!) It definitely looks a lot better full size and not shrunk down! :)

And a cardinal, hiding out in a tree in our backyard. Very cloudy today. :(

Day 360

Beau was such a good dog, all through the holidays, with the commotion and visitors and traveling. Such a good dog we have!

He got a new blankie and a new green squeaky toy from Santa. Here he is, with both, in a playful pose for me!

Day 359

Merry Christmas!

I took TONS of photos today, and I really couldn’t decide which one to post. Tim and I opened our presents at home in the morning, and I got a new telephoto lens and a remote control for my camera. Yippeee!!!! Tim got a lot of stuff from me, mostly clothes, golf stuff and some gadgets :) We went to my sister Gail’s house and got to visit with everyone the rest of the day. All of her kids came home this year, my four nieces and nephews, and their spouses and children. We got to see our two great nephews (5 and 2 months) and two great nieces (3 and 2) - which was awesome because we don’t get to see them often. At Gail’s house, I took tons of photos of the kids and their kids, of everyone opening presents, and all sorts of stuff. But, since this is my photoblog, I decided to be totally and completely selfish and post the one single picture I got Tim to take of me. This is me with my newest great-nephew, Sam. We met him for the first time on Christmas day. He was born in October :)

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Day 358

Christmas Eve! We were busy all day. My dad was here about half the day, and Tim’s parents and one of his brothers came over to hang out with us. We all ate and ate and ate, then went to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Tim and I really liked it :)

Tim and I had a quiet evening, watching TV and just hanging out together. I took a few photos of things around the house, including this one I really liked, of some of the presents under the tree:

Day 357

My dad came yesterday and is staying with us through Christmas Eve. We all went to church this morning, then watched our beloved Saints lose their football game (thereby putting themselves out of playoff contention). I knew we’d be really busy all day tomorrow on Christmas Eve, so I went ahead and made our Christmas dinner for tonight. Here’s the ham, it was yummy!
