“All the time….”

When I wrote my post about the tv give away, several of you commented about the title/song title….which you know, SO totally made my day! I love it when you get it or like it and I was pretty amused by the title too. Debi emailed me and when I told her I had that song on my iPod, I think she was sorta surprised by it! Stacy probably already thinks I’m wacky, she helped me get the song for the iPod if I remember correctly and Jenny might be thinking I’m wacky now too after meeting me. But I like music, lots and lots of different kinds of music too…..I guess I’m very eclectic in my tastes although that might be stating it nicely.
Several of you have also commented about me coming up with titles for my posts, they aren’t always music/lyrics but lots of them are. Sometimes these things just run around in my head, sometimes I really struggle to come up with anything that fits. I will do searches for things and most times I end up with something totally different than what I was originally looking for. I think lots of times most people don’t recognize what song I’ve use. Occasionally I use nursery rhymes, sayings, other things like that. But I do “love it when a plan comes together”……bonus points if you know what that’s from!
I showed you my iPod/dock in a previous post…..

“And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak”

I called hubby yesterday and gave him a mission; find a fruit & vegetable stand in the town he works in and bring me home some REAL tomatoes! Those are one of my favorite things about summer, haven’t had any yet and couldn’t stand it any more. I’ve seen several of you put blt’s on your menu and I was determined to fix them this week. Oooh, he brought me these……

I got something from Lynne last week in this post and then in the last day or so, Debi awarded me with it also in her post! Wow, y’all are being very sweet to me and I appreciate it! I’ve been gone some and am way behind on reading blogs and taking care of things around here so I’m trying to catch up a bit. Here’s what they gave me:

A schmooze award…….Schmoozing as defined by Dictionary.com is the ability to converse casually…. And I think with blogging it’s about making friends, being a friend, commenting and answering comments and having a welcoming blog. Thanks girls, y’all have all made me feel welcome.

I believe several people have been tagged that I thought of, Carrie for one.
So let’s see, for today I think I’ll tag Jenny first because she’s the birthday girl today! Happy birthday, I just met her in real life and she’s every bit as sweet in person as on her blog.
And her real life friend Jenna, who I haven’t gotten to meet yet! I think I ran across her doing Menu Plan Monday and realized she lived in my state….she might have been the one to suggest that if I ever drove through their hometown that we could all meet and alas, she was out of town last week when I met Jenny!
And sweet Annie….a fairly new bloggy friend who is so kind to us all. I love her faith, her love for family and her busy active life.
Becky is someone else whose blog I’ve been reading recently, she’s so sweet to comment and email me. I love reading about her full life and family and travels. She gives me good tips about books too!
All of you out there have been very kind and I appreciate that and love it so much.
Hope you’re having the bestest day!

Ooooh, look at what’s being given away at Five Minutes for Mom! We actually saw these about a week ago while shopping in Best Buy. They look great and had a good picture too. I love that it’s flat and would fit in so many places better than one I currently have. Some lucky person is going to win it and be ever so happy! Hop on over if you want to try for it too.

My meals didn’t go as planned last week, got only a portion of what I planned actually done. This week might be the same way again and I think now I seem to be saying that almost every Monday! Hubby is having an unusually erratic work schedule this summer that’s been affecting whether he’s here for dinner or not. Some nights I don’t feel like cooking a meal just for me. I’m happy to have a little bowl of ice cream because it’s just way too hot to cook in my opinion!
Be sure to pop over to visit the other menu planners at Laura’s place. Have a good Monday!

Ranchero Fish, broccoli
Enchiladas, salad
BLT’s
Chicken taco salad
If I manage to cook all these other things and still need a meal for another night, we might grill burgers! It’s been very loose and casual around here this summer.

I had the BEST time Friday on my drive to Alabama! I got to stop along the way and meet a fellow blogger in real life, Coach J. We met at a coffee shop in her town and talked for a while. She is so much fun, so cute and sweet! We talked and talked, shared stories and laughs. And I think we both agreed we could have stayed longer. She had her daughter with her, another cute thing; they had other places to be and I had to get back on the road. I think I stayed a little over an hour and a half and it still felt short. I enjoyed my visit with Jenny and I’m so glad she agreed to meet me! It was one of the most fun things I’ve done lately, and very fun to put a real face to someone whose blog I’ve been reading. Thanks Jenny, I had a great time!

Update: On my way to see my daughter I stopped to meet……Coach J! SO much fun! More later and hopefully a picture but I don’t have my cord with me to transfer from camera to laptop.

I’m going to help daughter E move from one house to a different one before school starts back up again. I hope she has most everything packed up by now. It will be a quick trip and hopefully not too much work (who am I kidding here, with this heat it will be work!). But a little something else is getting thrown in along the way……make a stop to meet someone in real life! I’m looking forward to it. Annie might be a bit jealous!

This is the what I’ve been listening to for a few weeks now……

It’s the cast recording of the Broadway show, Jersey Boys (the story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons). I’ve seen quite a few theater shows but not this one. I really hope I can see it someday.
Very fun, jukebox type music……the kind that makes you want to dance! The kind that makes me wish I knew how to dance better!

Got another new cd this week, more on it later.

I got something from sweet Annie, a thoughtful blogger award…..she’s way too sweet! Also Sandra gave me something similar at her site.
Y’all are very thoughtful to take me along up to where you are!
Other details for these can be found on this site.

“For those who answer blog comments, emails, and make their visitors feel at home on their blogs. For the people who take others feelings into consideration before speaking out and who are kind and courteous. Also for all of those bloggers who spend so much of their time helping others bloggers design, improve, and fix their sites. This award is for those generous bloggers who think of others.”

These are hard for me to do because I’m not sure who all has gotten them in the past and I’d like to list every single person I read but the post would be too long! Here’s a few I’ll pick today……

Stacy, my sister! And really she needs to be the main one because I wouldn’t even have a blog without her! Our blogs are on the family website that they maintain, she got me started, has taught me a lot but still has to do some of the work on my site from time to time. She’s a genius and computer wizard and has to take phone calls/emails from me almost weekly with questions about what to do or how to do something! I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now and she was about the only reader I had until this past fall/winter but she has always encouraged me to keep going.

My daughter Elizabeth and daughter in law Shanna……..they both have blogged in the past but are not presently doing that. I miss their blogs and keeping up that way! They are both very sweet, very busy girls and when I first started they were some of the most faithful ones to make a comment. I love to have family visit my place.

Stacy, the other one as she calls herself! She’s very sweet to visit me and make me feel welcome when I’m just a wee bit older than her! She answers comments and we email some, about places she’s lived, trips, etc. and she’s helpful to give me tips about places she’s been.

Lauren is another girl that I’m just a wee bit older than and yet she also has made me feel welcome. I love to read about tidbits with her kids and the things they’re up to…….I love her faith and her commitment to raising godly christian children.

And I know she’s already gotten this but I have to mention Barb, one of the most thoughtful people out here in the bloggy world!

I could go on and on, I love all of you that I visit (some that I just lurk on too!) and that are so sweet to take time to visit me; you make sweet comments about my kids and family and you know I just love that!
The blogging world is full of thoughtful, creative people and it’s fun to be a part of!

Just for You Elizabeth, because you asked to see a picture of Katelyn with me! Daughter E has been looking/commenting on my blog a bit lately, I think maybe she should get brownie points or something for that. 🙂 One of the reasons I started this was as a way to keep up with family but the kids are all so busy with work, school, family, etc. that they really don’t have time to be on the computer much and I guess I’m on way too much. E hasn’t had classes this summer so she’s got a bit more time but I’m sure next month that’s likely to come to a screeching halt when school starts back. And even though I’m doing this for her, I think her boyfriend is going to Alabama to see her today so she may not even see this!
Hmmm, she might need some kind of reward for visiting me lately, got any ideas? a pat on the back?
A few more pics on the extended page……

I visited North Carolina last month and this past week daughter Kathryn and her Katelyn visited me, as lots of you have heard! I’m sure you’re sick of pics by now but I’m doing a few more. I noticed on both visits that they have a routine, or rather K does, that she likes to keep the baby to. I really think Katelyn does well with having sorta the same routine most days, she seems to know what to expect at certain times.
In the mornings they have breakfast and then most days they go to the gym; Kathryn works out and Katelyn plays with the kids at “gym school.” Occasionally they go to the park to walk/play instead…

I didn’t get to everything in my menu last week, plans changed as the week went along! And the same is likely to happen this week as well; hubby might not be here for dinner a couple of different nights. So I’m not putting a specific day to the things I’m trying to plan and it will be a short week again too! Monday is my youngest child’s birthday so we hope to see him for lunch. Hope you have a good Monday.

Quesadillas (Laura has some on her menu this week that look good!)
Grilled shrimp caesar salad, because I didn’t get to it 2 weeks ago
Fish, veggies, couscous
possibly burgers on the weekend, these Southwest stuffed turkey burgers were SO good when I made them recently!

If I can find “real” homegrown tomatoes this week I might fix BLT’s instead of one of the above things!

You should check out Laura at Organizing Junkie for the other participants this week and some great menus & ideas.

I got tagged by Sherry about a week ago for this meme of four. Was just a little busy having company, so I’m now trying to get caught up with things and blog a bit more. I’ve seen this one passing around and mine won’t be that interesting because I’ve not lived many places or really done many things! But here ya go, the meme of four.

Four jobs I’ve held:
1. Kindergarten teacher
2. Clerk in a fabric store, Hancock fabrics
3. Doing invoices at hubby’s office as needed, haven’t had to do that this summer and I’m glad because it’s not my thing!
4. Mom to four, because it’s what I’ve done for most of my life!

Four Movies I can watch over and over again (I don’t tend to watch movies over and over again but will pick some favorites)
1. The Sound of Music
2. Lord of the Rings, trilogy
3. You’ve Got Mail
4. O Brother Where Art Thou

Four Places I have lived:
1. Mississippi
2. Mississippi
3. Mississippi
4. And if this counts, we lived for a summer in Ft. Collins, Colorado…..other than that, MS!

Four T.V. Shows I Watch:
1. Lost
2. The Amazing Race
3. Survivor
4. Dancing with the Stars
24

Four Places I’ve been on Vacation:
1. New York City
2. Yellowstone National Park
3. Washington D.C.
4. Cancun
Kiahwah Island, Yosemite, Germany……I could go on with way more than 4 here!

Four Fave Foods:
1. Shrimp
2. strawberries
3. key lime pie
4. chocolate

Four websites I visit:
1. Bloglines
2. Yahoo
3. Amazon
4. Google

I’m gonna be all rebel like and not tag anyone because I’m not sure who’s done this one. But if you play along please let me know so I can come read it!

This is what I’ve got coming in the mail to me…..

Been reading about Monk & Neagle over at Boomama’s site…..yesterday she wrote this post, with details on how to get their cd. Some of us were lucky enough to get one! Be sure to click on their button above to go visit their site. You can hear a few of the songs and I really like everything I’ve heard so far! Can’t wait to hear the rest.
You might can still sign up, for info or maybe a cd…..never know if they might have more to give away later!

We took a road trip yesterday, a little change of scenery for us and Katelyn…..we drove to Jackson to go to the zoo! It was also a chance for Kathryn to see my youngest child that lives in Jackson, her brother David. Yes, it’s lovely weather here in Mississippi in the middle of July, very hot and muggy! We didn’t stay all day, just a couple of hours. But we had a fun time and if you care to see pictures, click below…….
