“….. soft and warm is your bed”
One of the projects I worked on before making this last trip to Texas was a little quilt for new baby Henry. Now that he’s a couple months old, I need to stop calling him the new baby! I’m still feeling my way through doing a blanket so mine are very simple and maybe not “real” quilts at all yet….I have to work my way up to that. Regular sewing and the burps are easier for me but I’m pretty happy with the way this turned out. I hope they like it and will enjoy using it too!
I didn’t match the bedding exactly but went with some blues and greens that blended pretty good with it…..plus I wanted it to be something they could use on the floor or for when he’s older and just needs something soft to cuddle with. I was able to find this fabric already put together for me like this so I snapped it up! Greens and blues are some of my favorite colors too.
I used a soft blue minky fabric for the back…that stuff feels so luscious, I should figure out something to make for grownups with it!
But I might could just eat him up like he is right there! There’s nothing like a sweet sleeping baby and I think he might like the blanket after all!
I’m glad I got through with it before he was half grown. It was a nice reward and finish for me to see him on it!

Wow, that is beautiful. No better gift than something handmade by one’s grandma, I say! Henry is adorable!

That is really nice! And your little guy couldn’t look anymore content all snuggled up in his grandma’s quilt!
I love it!

Oh Gail, it’s so beautiful!
I have had many favorite blankets through the kids and they are really the most special gift. Izzy was given one made by someone at church after her accident, it has her name embroidered on it and is a little larger than normal. It is so special and we use it all the time. She lays on a pallet a lot and this blanket is our favorite for her pallet.
He looks so sweet sleeping.

Oh that is just gorgeous 🙂

How sweet! I am often envious of the fabrics they use for babies. I wouldn’t mind some pajamas as soft as that fabric!

Oh my word, he’s so sweet! And you did a beautiful job with the quilt.

It’s pretty and I bet it’s soft. And hey, he’s still a “new baby” to me because we haven’t gotten to see him yet! 🙂

I want that blanket right now…I didn’t sleep well last night. I think I FINALLY fell asleep at 3:30. BTW, are those the words to lullaby? My mom apparently sang these words…so they are the ones I know. “Lullaby, and goodnight. It is time for a nap. I don’t know the rest of the word. Lullaby and goodnight!” 🙂

Impressive! I want to snuggle up in that!! And you can still call him the new baby as long as you want!! Well, maybe you better stop after he starts walking… 🙂

I so love it. You are so talented girl. I wished I could do something like this. Your kids are very lucky.

You could make me that same blanket and I’d love it just as much as Henry does!! It looks so inviting!
Great picture 🙂
