“you make me smile with my heart”
I haven’t seen the little kids in about 2 months and wanted to send them something for Valentine’s. I didn’t think chocolate would do very good in the mail so I looked around and found a few other little candy type things that I thought would be ok. And I stuck in some small toys I had around the house… little containers of play dough, cars, etc. I found a template online to use with tootsie pops so I ran those off; they ended up taking more time to cut out than I realized, I guess I’m rusty on the cutting and pasting!
It all went in………
those cute little red bags with hearts on them. That kind of stuff is fun for 3 of the 4 kiddos but Sam is still a baby, around 4 months old. He can’t eat candy and really can’t play with toys, although I did put some little wood cars in his sack. So I decided to make him a bib from some leftover flannel and chenille I had… and thought if I did him one, I should also do one for the new baby that’s coming in April! So Sam and soon-to-be born Henry got bibs. I guess that’s sort of a funny Valentine gift!
But I was happy with how they turned out; I really liked the chenille on the back and have got to go find more of it to use! I liked the texture on the backs. I hope the moms like them! This was probably way more fun for me than it will be for them. Not much, but just little happy things for Valentine’s Day….hope yours is a good one!

How sweet. I think V-day is just a good time to let people know you love them in these little thoughtful ways.

I found an adorable little pink t-shirt with a “doodled” heart on the front with the word ‘loved’ across the middle of it for my god daughter. I thought that would be a fun Valentine treat that she could wear any time, because she is most certainly loved! =)

Ah…what a sweet grandma thing to do! I love the bibs too! I wonder if thrift stores would have old chenille bedspreads – you could make lots of bibs from a bedspread!

Lovely gifts. Candy and bibs to drool it in to. (I know, the babies aren’t getting the candy but I thought it was funny to have both in one box!)

You cannot have too many bibs, and it’s the thought that counts anyway – just letting others know you love them. Looks to me like you did quite well.

I love the name Henry. If we ever have a son, I’m fighting for that name!
The Valentine presents are so cute!
