This book meme has been popping up a lot lately and it looked fun so I thought I’d jump in and do it too.
Stacy got it from Karen and others have done it too that I read, Lynne and Susanne both come to mind and I might be forgetting someone else!

What are you reading right now? The Sacrifice, 3rd in the Abram’s Daughters series by Beverly Lewis

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that? I have several checked out from the library so will probably work on those, Susannah’s Garden, Wish You Well and the remaining ones of this series I’m on.

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now? ummm, none! But elsewhere in the house I have Southern Living, Better Homes & Gardens and Good Housekeeping.

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read? I can’t think that I’ve ever been forced to read anything. When my kids were younger I always read their required summer reading books before they did, because I’m a picky overprotective helpful, involved parent that way! One book that a couple of the kids had to read, A Separate Peace, I did not like at all and didn’t think the school should have required it; I think they got some negative feedback and eventually changed it to another book but it’s the only one that comes to my mind that I didn’t really like. It might have also been that I didn’t think it was appropriate reading for a young teenager.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone? Only one, no way!
I love Les Miserables! Anything by Karen Kingsbury or Brock & Bodie Thoene especially the Zion Covenant and Zion Chronicles series.

Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they? I actually think one of the girls in there does know my name now! She’s been helpful to request some books for me using the inter library loan thing and she calls me when something comes in that I’ve requested or put on hold. She usually tells me she doesn’t need my card, I think because she’s already looked all my stuff up on the computer by the time I get to the desk!

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all? I can’t think of anything, although I don’t think anyone has ever read Les Mis when I’ve told them about it, mabye because they don’t think it would be good!

Do you read books while you do other things? Probably, and I might have had to learn because of so many people always being in the house! I can read lots of times with the tv on, in the car with all the family, on planes, in lobbies and waiting rooms etc. Not sure if that’s what it means by other things.

When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits? Not that I remember.

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down? I might not stay up half the night but I read til almost midnight many nights, I love to read in bed at night! A few years ago when I did read Les Mis (and I read it because my kids had to read it in the summer!) I stayed up late finishing it, crying the whole time and hoping for a certain ending. If I ever get into a book it’s hard for me to put it down. One night many years ago when E was in elementary school, I was up late reading The Pelican Brief when we had a tooth incident! Another whole story in itself!
