This past weekend I drove to Alabama to meet hubby there so we could help one of our daughters move. She’s been in school there for a year, her roommates were 2 friends from Miss. College that she knew well and lived with in the dorm. They are both finished and leaving so E needed to find another place to live. It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that we moved her over there from MS, just moved across town this time. We did some on Friday evening and the rest on Saturday.
Boyfriend C came to help too and there were quite a few trips like this:

Most of the big heavy stuff got moved into her bedroom and we tried to do some organizing to fit things in a little better……

She worked on her closet some

Then there seemed to be some of this going around for a while!

And not everything she had in the old place will fit in the new place. Last year she and the girls rented a 3 bedroom house together and there was a bit more storage space, maybe because it was a fairly old house with an outside shed. This year she’s renting a room from a girl, still a 3 bedroom house but this house is very new and very nice…..and she does have some things in the kitchen but the bulk of her stuff needed to be in the bedroom and bathroom maybe. She may have been able to store some things in a small storage room outside; she’s still working on it I think after work each day! All that to say, we got to bring stuff home with us! Hubby still hasn’t quite figured out how we ended up going to help her move with an empty vehicle and came home with a full vehicle. There’s one item I’m not sad about keeping for her this year……..I might show you that later!

I’ll try to get around to visit you today……I was gone all day yesterday shopping, getting my hair trimmed and highlighted today and have lots of cleaning to do to find a place to put these things we brought back from Alabama!

You’ve been busy! Good luck finding a place for all of your “new” stuff ;0

Boys must be different. My college aged sons move about every 4 months. One is “homeless” at this very moment. He says if he gives someone $100 a month they will let him sleep on their couch, and he keeps his “stuff” in his car. I told him I don’t want to hear this. I’m a girl. This is not comfort to me. And at my age it is all about the comfort.

Wow, I’m tired out just reading about the move and seeing the pictures! 😉

And I didn’t remember until just now, but- and don’t think this is strange- but I had a dream about you! I met you and one other blogger…LOL And you were just as nice in person!

I think it was because you told about meeting one of your blogging friends…anyway, we know we’re blogging a lot when fellow bloggers pop into our dreams! LOL

When my husband and I bought our first home, my parents came to help. They showed up with all my stuff from their house (including wedding presents we had left there because our apartment was too small)! It was so funny. I guess they went home and had some extra space! I am sure your daughter is very appreciative of your help!

    Sounds like fun Gail!

Bummer that she doesn’t have as much room in the new place, but hey, she won’t be there long! I’m sure you have plenty of room upstairs and in the attic to store her stuff. If not, just put it in her room at home! 🙂

  7. Robin Says:

I store stuff for all three of my girls that have moved out. The thing is – they have room for it but for some reason it gives them comfort to keep some of their things at “home”. I don’t really mind 🙂

Moving … fun stuff! Have fun trying to find where to put everything you brought back, LOL.

  9. Karen Says:

Those were the days, when we could move our belongs with a pickup truck (or two or three). Can’t imagine that happening now!

  10. Stacy (the other one) Says:

Moving is so fun…. yeah right!

Did you come through my stomping grounds again? (I’m afraid I wouldn’t have been good company due to being so tired, but if you come through again, we’ve got to get together!!)
