I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday yesterday….it was a nice little break for us! We went down to our friend’s house in the early afternoon, there were 6 of us adults and one was babysitting their little grandson. One grilled some meat and did pasta salad, I made crunchy slaw and squash casserole and another made homemade ice cream. We ate entirely too much! So we vegged out in front of the tv looking for something to watch, nothing was on and finally decided to send Don back to my house for games. We played Mad Gab for a while, SO much fun! I brought my iPod dock/speaker and music to play outside trying to get the boys to dance with us………..
No such luck!
They got out clubs instead to hit plastic golf balls
When the 3 year old got in the pool, the big boys did enjoy playing with him with these cool water guns
And when it was just about dark and the giant KILLER mosquitoes swarmed/dive bombed us, we went out to the country club for the fireworks, where there were even more mosquitoes!
I do feel a bit better today but my voice is still very hoarse. Gotta go get caught up on stuff around here!
How was your 4th?

We had a nice quiet day at home, and then went to a friends house to watch his fireworks. He spends a ridiculous amount of money every year on fireworks–and we usually go watch his. We made ice cream too–with fresh peaches–it was yummy. As you know, I also talked with Annie for awhile. Fun. I’m glad that you are feeling better today.

Looks like a fun day! I am a mosquito magnet, so I can sympathize!

We had a good day, too, but we wish we had been able to spend more time at home. 😉 I love getting together with friends, and just letting my hair down–or let my feet do the dancin’ :0)
I like the fireworks pics. I forgot to take my camera to our 4th outing!

On the one hand our 4th was a little subdued because of Rob’s bad news. On the other hand, it was wonderful because of Krissy’s joyous news.
Mad Gab is a favorite here, too. There’s no way you can play that game without filling your house or yard with laughter!

It looks like you had so much fun! I had about 35 people over and half of them were under the age of 10. We had water balloons, water guns, swimming pools, and hoses because it was in the hundreds here! It was lots of fun but there wasn’t too much one on one visiting!

I loved the pictures of you all dancing but the guys playing golf or water guns! LOL
Sounds like you had a great day!
We had a good fourth, too….over to some friends’ house for a barbecue and then on to see the fireworks. And not to rub it in, but no mosquitoes! 😉
Are best day was the very next, though, which I just wrote about…
Have a good week, Gail!
