One of my favorite gifts I gave this year was something I did for Ava Clair. I made her a pink “dress up” dress to play in! I had forgotten that little sleeves and little seams are a bit harder to do than big people things but I enjoyed doing it and liked how it turned out. I so wish I had a picture of her in it but for now I just have a shot of the dress alone. I hope her mom or dad will send me a picture of her in the dress! (hint hint, but they never read this so they’ll have to get the message another way!) Trent told me on the phone that she’s had it on playing in it.

Here’s the dress:
There weren’t a lot of fabric choices here in my town and I ended up getting material that I have fussed & fussed at my girls for years about! They would want me to make them dresses and then it always seemed like they brought home material that was what I would call “crawly”! Something slinky, flimsy, or silky and it would almost always be hard to sew because it kept moving around on the machine! This satin like material was the same way but I didn’t remember that until I was too far into it to change it!
I sewed some little flowers all around the skirt after I was done with the dress.
You’ll just have to imagine an adorable little 2 year old with wispy blonde hair wearing it!
I did a few more gifts that were monogrammed and such; I’ll show those in another post hopefully!

Very cute. I’ve made my niece and nephews costumes over the past years and they just love to dress up. I could never sew something like this though – no patience wtih that material!

Oh how fun! I remember the dress up dresses I had. Some of them I made Mama save when they moved. I know that mama would be so happy to have a little girl running around in a dress like that – she’ll just have to wait! 🙂

That is beautiful! My girls love things like this and I would have loved it, too, when I was little! 😀

Ooh, that’s so cute! I can just see AC prancing around in this, she’s so cute and I bet this dress looks adorable on her! Keep at them and get a picture of her in it!!!
