We made a quick trip to Houston over the weekend to see Shanna, Trent & the kids. Don & Tim played golf on Friday afternoon, we spent the night & had a really early flight out Saturday morning. Trent picked us up at the airport & we went to their house to spend a couple of nights. Grayson turned 4 on Saturday and they had a little cookout/party for him with family; we got to see Shanna’s family as well. The big thing Grayson got for his birthday was a puppy! He has been so excited about it for quite a while and had even named his dog Scrappy, long before they even got him. The original dog they had picked out didn’t work out so late last week they found a beagle puppy for him & he was to be delivered Saturday morning.

This is Grayson with his new dog Scrappy!
As soon as the people with the other puppies left, Ava Clair got very upset & was just sobbing! She had liked the little female puppy but Grayson had wanted a boy dog. Trent & Shanna discussed it a few minutes, called the people back and decided to get a 2nd puppy for Ava Clair! It really worked out perfectly; now they each have one, they won’t fight over them, and the puppies have each other to play with! Plus, this little female puppy is just the cutest thing you have ever seen!

The kids are so cute with the dogs & I know the whole family will enjoy having them.
Oh, and one of the birthday boy blowing out the candles on his cake, a dinosaur cake! That boy is obsessed with dinosaurs and most everything else he got for his birthday had to do with dinos. He now has a ton of them!
Don went to the driving range a couple of times, we went out to eat, and also got to drive around and see the school where Shanna is teaching now. Third grade math & science is what she’s doing & we heard some fun tales of some of the kids & the first few weeks of school; what an adventure she’s having!
Don & I flew back home Monday afternoon; had a good time seeing everyone & were glad we got to go!

Oh my gosh how adorable! So glad they both got a puppy and that cakes — looks really yummy!

Aren’t they just too cute – the kids and the puppies both! Glad you guys had a good time, and got to see everyone. We miss Trent, Shanna and the kids, hope we get to see them soon. 🙁

Oh, that’s just about the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen! You just can’t get any cuter than little kids with little puppies. 😉
