Our neighbor’s yard has fig trees in it, and for many years I have been able to pick from their trees and enjoy the fruit! We have new neighbors now and I don’t know them as well so I don’t feel like I should just go over and help myself to their fig trees; but yesterday she brought me a sack of already picked figs over to my door! I was so excited……..we were on our way out to the movie so I’m just today deciding what to do with them. I had a bowl for breakfast, yum.
Now I’m looking online for recipes and ideas on what to do with figs. I think I might try freezing some of them, eating some more and then baking something with the rest of them, and I don’t know what else. Here they are, don’t they look good!

I remember picking them from a tree my grandmother had. Never ate them, I just gave them to my dad.

OHMYGOSH, give some to me! I love, love, love fresh figs. The Townsends used to have a fig tree and I would go pick enough to stuff a few in my mouth, then have a bowl for breakfast, cut up, with sugar and milk. I love those things and you can’t find them in the stores because they are too perishable. I wish I had a neighbor with a tree!
YUM!

Yep, I had them cut up, with sugar & milk! Oh, but I think I sprinkled Splenda instead, still good though!
I will share but I think you are too far away from me right now!
