It’s a first for me………….I noticed a week or so ago that two of my hosta plants have shoots with a bud or bloom on them! This is the third year I think that hostas have been in some of our beds and none of them have ever bloomed before. And it might not make it this time but at least there is something there.
When I got a couple of new ones this year, I had no idea that they would bloom or I might have paid more attention to what color it might be. Not sure that was on the tag or pot anywhere though and this looks to me like it might be a lavender color, hard to tell when it hasn’t opened up. Hope you can tell something about it from the pic; and………….I hope it will soon open up and have a flower on it! Can’t wait.

Ooh, those look so good and healthy! The one hosta I have is in a spot that’s too sunny for it. It comes back every spring and does good until about half way through the summer, when it wilts and dies back. Comes back every year though, and fills in a spot in the early spring, which is nice. Mine gets blooms sometimes, and they are a really pale pinkish or purplish white. Mine isn’t a variegated one though, so maybe they have lots of different bloom colors.
So fun to watch and wait for things to bloom, sort of like waiting for Santa to show up! Can’t wait to see a picture when it does bloom, be sure to post one 🙂
